First off, let me tell you - I saw Desamudhuru and you won't be wasting your money watching this movie. This movie might not be the best; in fact, the movie is not that good. But this movie is bound to entertain you , thanks to that masculine actor who usurped the hearts of Telugu movie-goers through his indefatigable and invincible optimist, Arya, the titular hero of that unforgettable blockbuster. Allu Arjun's rocking presence is reason enough to watch this not-so-bad movie.

Once again, Allu Arjun proves that he is the best dancer of Tollywood. His steps are measured, his movements gracious, his dancing relaxed and his body, as usual, amazingly flexible and even malleable. The music is not that good. But whoever will lend ears to the music or eyes to others on screen, when Arjun is rocking on the big screen.

He has definitely worked a lot on his body and does not flinch from displaying it proudly. in fact, right from Arya onwards (In his first movie 'Gangotri', he was nothing more than a teenage stripling!) his muscles were gradually bulging out! In Desamudhuru, he makes us think of those Grecian statues of men.

Allu once again shines in action scenes, with his piercing, formidable look and sculpted physique. Allu Arjun exudes a sort of raw energy and crude, rough manliness, which makes him an odd one among those actors who flaunt their manicured nails, bleached complexion and smooth, hairless body. Allu betrays his optimism and highly desirable happy-go-lucky attitude, even as he deftly gets into the skin of his loveable characters. He is also good at comedy (as he proved in both Arya and Bunny). His 'Happy' might not have made the fans happy (In fact, the histrionic and insufferable climax of 'Happy' made everyone sad!). This movie comes as a compensation.

In Desamudhuru, Allu essays the role of a daring and yet practical journalist. This journalist is brave, yet he also knows that discretion is the better part of valour. So, when he gets into hot water beating up the rowdy son of a notorious bad guy (who happens to be a Tamilian; Allu definitely likes TamilNadu, given the fact that he spent his childhood there) and sending the rowdy to a comatose state, he pays heed to the advice of his father who works with him at Maa TV and flees to the picturesque Manali. At Manali, he meets a petite spiritual aspirant and falls for her at first sight. (Some scenes of this movie remind us of John Abraham's Paap. The talented Puri was definitely inspired by 'Paap'. But let me quickly add that only 2 or 3 scenes are similar. If you say this movie is a copy of 'Paap', then you are surely wrong.) Then of course, she too gradually develops a soft corner for the daring journalist and soon falls in love. Initially her ascetic leanings militate against the free expression of her love for him. Her perverted spiritual philosophy cramps her style. But soon she can no longer hide the fact that she loves him(The heroine looks beautiful. Her innocent looks are endearing. Yet one wonders why Allu always gets debutant actresses. Not that it's bad. We all love freshness and variety). Then the rowdy father's team reaches Manali and takes away not Allu, but the heroine. Both the journalist and audience are amazed. Allu should find out why they want the girl and should rescue the virgin ....

Manali is a wonderful backdrop for this movie. The cinematographer has succeeded in capturing the picturesque mountains, the azure sky, the drifting clouds and the pure water.

To conclude, this movie is a must-watch for all those Allu fans. Even if you're not an Allu fan, you won't get bored watching this movie.
