Biography of Pawan Kalyan

Actually named Konidela Kalyan Babu, Pawan Kalyan is an Indian film Actor, Director, Screenwriter and Action choreographer in Telugu cinema. He made his debut in 1996 with Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi and then went on to star in blockbuster films like Suswagatham, Tholi Prema, Thammudu, Badri, Khushi, Jalsa and Theenmaar.

Family

He is the one of the youngest brothers of Chiranjeevi, a prominent actor, politician in Andhra Pradesh, and producer Nagendra Babu. He married Nandini, a Visakhapatnam resident on 17 May 1997. The couple separated after two years into the marriage. His first marriage was scrutinized by the media when Nandini filed a case against Pawan and his family seeking divorce and alimony from him on 25 June 2007. The case was investigated and in August 2008, the court granted divorce to the couple with Pawan agreeing to pay Rs. 5 crores as a one time settlement to Nandini. Soon after the divorce, on 28 January 2009, he married Renuka Desai, an actress who co-starred with him in the movies Badri and Johnny. The couple has two children, a son named Akira Nandan born in 2004, and a baby girl named Aadhya born in 2010.

Pawan Kalyan is a trained Martial Artist and holds a black belt in karate and has displayed his skills in several of his films. He publicly performed his martial arts skills at several auditoriums. He was awarded the title "Pawan", symbolizing Hanuman, and since then has become popular as Pawan Kalyan.
