Giri Babu is a popular character artist in Tollywood. He acted in over 550 films in a span of 38 years. He also Directed and Produced many telugu films.
Giri Babu is fond of his village Ravinootala. He established a trust for the welfare of the village. He donated a site for the construction of a TTD Kalyanamantapam. On February 14, 2012 he was presented with a Honorary Doctorate from the West Brooks University, USA.
